It’s likely that many of the students attending Thursday’s Manufacturing Expo had never heard of manufacturing, couldn’t say what is manufactured in their homes, and never dreamed of working for a manufacturer.
But after the event at Chico State University, some may have an inkling. Some might think about attending Butte College or Chico State; and some might just have spotted their dream job.
As many as 3,000 junior and senior high school students from the north state got a taste of manufacturing.
Those behind the exhibitor booths were business owners or managers, or educators who wanted to drive home the fact that a career in manufacturing could be excellent work.
