Over the course of an hour, the five female groups were generally somber in discussing their visions for new digital entertainment capabilities, hoping to land a million or two from investor “sharks.”
But at times, giggling prevailed.
Friday was the climax of a week-long coding camp for girls ages 10 to late teens and the showdown between the teams.
The camp was a partnership between Butte County Office of Education, Girls Who Code and Build.com, the latter being the host site and the reality of what could be in the girls’ future if they followed that path. Women programmers from the company coached the girls.
