Biz Kidz at Chico Marketplace

Calling all parents of creative kids! Enter them into our contest for the chance to set up shop at Chico Marketplace on August 6th and keep all the money they earn! All kids 12 or under need a parent or guardian to submit their entry. Enter your child’s business idea below June 15th – July 12th. We will choose 6-8 entries in two age categories: 6-12 and 13-17*. Winners will be announced July 11th. Event date at Chico Marketplace is August 6th from 11am – 2pm. *If your student turns 18 during the school year they may still participate.

August 6th Biz Kidz Event Sponsored by Chicostart and CFE

On August 6th, the winning entrepreneurs will showcase their product and services from 11am – 2pm at Chico Marketplace. We will have great prizes, face painting, character appearances and raffles during the event. Awards will be handed following the event at 2:15pm

• Five $150 prizes will be handed out to the Best Overall Entrepreneurs
• A grand prize of $250 and a one-hour meeting with Eva Shepherd-Nicoll, Executive Director, Chicostart & Director, Center for Entrepreneurship for CSU Chico for the Best Overall Business
• Winning businesses will be judged in the following categories:
  • 1 minute verbal pitch to judges
    • Participants will give a 1 minute pitch about their products/services/business at the Chicostart table during the event.
  • Product concept and actual products on hand
  • Store display (marketing and merchandising)
  • Customer service during the event
